Welcome!

Music has always been a part of my life. My parents were teens of the sixties who passed their passion for music forward. They came from blue collar homes where the expectation was to find a job, leaving little to no opportunity for school extracurriculars like learning an instrument.  Their exposure was limited to radio, records, and singing at Sunday mass.

My upbringing was similar. Blue collar home with parents who worked in factories.  My early music influences consisted of my parents' small record collection, my neighbors' collections of disco, heavy metal, and rock records, and listening to jazz and swing at my grandparents.  I also sang in both church and school choir until about the time I started working at 12.

Once I started working, now having a little money of my own, I began building my own music collection. Early on it was all records and tapes, but it wasn't long before the introduction of CDs.  By the time I finished high school I was DJing weddings and parties to make extra money. My interest in music was very eclectic, which didn't often jive with the mainstream.  I enjoyed almost everything except for pop country.  I had a little country in my collection for DJing since the area I was living had a lot of country enthusiasts.  Eventually, between working three jobs, college, and family commitments, I decided to take a break.

I spent the next 10 years continuing to actively following music. I attempted to learn guitar and improve my piano skills but work (and partying) left me little time to devote to it. The keyboard I was using allowed me to do some sampling.  As such, my interest in producing electronic music flourished, although at the time it was more industrial based. It wasn't long before I built a small recording studio in the basement of my house and started learning Pro Tools, later switching to Ableton.

I was eventually reintroduced to electronic music, mostly house and progressive, which differed from the traditional harder club vibes I was familiar with. I really enjoyed the groovy feel of the genres, and even more so, being encapsulated by the emotional journey of a DJ’s set.  A well crafted set was similar to past experiences of listening to an entire album all the way through (think Pink Floyd's The Wall.)  I am moved by the way it triggers emotions and  brings people together.

My first club experience was at Metropolis in Cleveland. Kenneth Thomas from Detroit was opening for Darude.  There were also some great sounding local house DJ’s playing the back room, although I unfortunately cannot recall their names.  After that event I was hooked! I began going to shows regularly. Locals like KT, Anthony Attalla, Shawn Michaels, Justin James, DJ Seoul, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick May were staples in the Detroit club scene during that period.

My passion for electronic music led me to start my own collection of tracks. I used Mixmeister to remix tracks and add my own flare to sets I created.  Eventually I bought my first CDJ’s and DJM mixer.  I began throwing parties, practicing the craft, and even on quiet nights, playing to an audience of one, my partner and biggest supporter, Mrs. Development.  I spent a lot of time behind the decks with my now long time friend and collaborator Martin Hayz.

Over the years, I continued releasing promo sets and playing parties at places like Mammoth, the Necto (Red Room), the Works, and High Dive. I was lucky through the years to be able to play with great local DJ's and friends like Martin Hayz, the 81 Project, Gmajor, and many others!  Being a guest DJ at events hosted by Bad Table Manners and Detroit Techno Militia was an honor. What a positive and supportive community to be a part of!

2024-25 brought many life changes which hindered my ability to DJ regularly.  During the downtime, I continued to practice, was always on a relentless hunt for new, inspiring tracks, and also spent the greater part of the last year developing my production skills. One of my biggest challenges I was facing was my distance from Detroit.  Recently moving to the Detroit area has been a positive change.

I look forward to all the new opportunities and cannot wait to share more heart-felt, vibing experiences with our electronic music family!  Thank you to everyone who has supported me and brought love to our community! I look forward to seeing you at the next event!
